CCUS in action: from theory to project reality

Prof. Dra. Sallie E. Greenberg (Estados Unidos)

Sallie E. Greenberg, Ph.D. is a Strategic Energy Advisor with more than 30 years of experience in carbon management. Dr. Greenberg specializes and consults in many areas including strategic energy project development, government relations, energy policy, health and environmental and social justice, team effectiveness, and energy leadership development. Dr. Greenberg brings together a unique combination of technical one-of-a-kind project and programmatic experience, social community engagement and policy-related expertise, with an emphasis in health and environmental considerations. As a former Principal Research Scientist at the Illinois State Geological Survey – University of Illinois, Dr. Greenberg led the Illinois Basin – Decatur Project, a one million tonne BECCS project, to completion and has consulted or contributed to more than 30 energy and CCS projects, especially in project development, risk reduction, and stakeholder engagement. She led the Midwest Geological Sequestration Consortium, an original U.S. Department of Energy Regional Partnership and co-led the Midwest Regional Carbon Initiative Partnership.  Dr. Greenberg holds a Ph.D. in Secondary and Continuing Education and Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Illinois, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Alfred University in New York.
